The prestigious business magazine Forbes has published an article by Mikhail Oshchepkov, an reseaerch fellow of the ENERPO Research Center, dedicated to the current crisis in the Russian coal industry and possible ways to overcome it. The article examines the key challenges facing coal companies, as well as possible strategies for adapting to the new conditions.

Our international ENERPO Journal has received the international standard serial number ISSN.

Members of the ENERPO Research Center, Olga Teplova and Maxim Titov, spoke on June 17 at the seminar on “The Latest Major Trends in Sustainable Finance”.

On the 25th of June, the executive director of the ENERPO Research Center Maxim Titov participated in the session «Climate Change: Tackling a Global Challenge» of the VI World Petroleum Council Youth Forum – 6th Future Leaders Forum organized by the Russian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council (RNC WPC).

On 12-14 April Director of ENERPO Research Center Nikita Lomagin, executive Director Maxim Titov, IMARES and ENERPO Program Associate Director Gevorg Avetikyan and Research Fellow of the Center Nikolay Kozhanov presented the European University at St. Petersburg in the BASEES Annual Conference. 

On 7-8 February executive director of the ENERPO Research Center Maxim Titov took part in the 5th International Symposium on Sustainability «Climate "How": How to Engage Society and Deploy Decarbonization».

In March 2019, the ENERPO Research Center of the European University at St. Petersburg launches “the Month of Energy”. “The Month of Energy” is a series of open lectures on current trends and challenges of Russian energy politics. EachWednesday at 18:30 during the month of March, an interactive lecture will be given in a trendy location, touching upon themes such as energy factor in foreign policy, clean energy in Russia, decarbonization of energy sector and energy politics in the Caspian sea region.

From the 11th to the 13th December, the European University at St.Petersburg took part in the 24th International Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (Conference of the Parties or COP24). The Academic Director of the ENERPO program, Professor Nikita Lomagin, the Head of the STS center, Olga Bychkova, and the Head of the ENERPO center, Maxim Titov, spoke at several sessions of the Russian pavilion.
