ENERPO Research Center

On November 29, 2018, the Research Center ENERPO of the European University at Saint-Petersburg will welcome the third International CLEAN ENERGY Forum.

The Forum will give room to discussions on clean energy and climate change: risks, strategies and possibilities.

According to the report of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published on October 8, the impact of the global climate change is becoming more and more alarming, while "pathways limiting global warming to 1.5°C with no or limited overshoot would require rapid and far-reaching transitions in energy, land, urban and infrastructure (including transport and buildings), and industrial systems."

In this context timely and well-thought-out transition from traditional fuels to clean energy represents a key mission for states and society on the way to the sustainable development.

The third international CLEAN ENERGY Forum will traditionally gather representatives of business, state, and non-commercial organisations, as well as academia, to discuss transition to clean energy, Russian position and role in the international energy politics, corporate and state climate strategies, as well as climate risks management.

Energy Transition and Clean Energy

Energy transition is a global trend: clean energy resources, renewables and decentralization, changing consumer behavior. Is Russia, one of the global energy leaders in the world, considering these trends? What are priorities for the energy sector further development? What are target markets?
