Seminar on Economics of Natural Gas

On October 9th, the ENERPO Research Center welcomed François Lévêque, professor at Mines-ParisTech and Director of the Chair “Economics of Natural Gas”, who presented his work on the natural gas competition: the case of Gazprom against US LNG and the EU antitrust law. The research fellow of the Chair, Ekaterina Dukhanina, also PhD candidate at Mines-ParisTech, presented her work on the integration of the natural gas market.

China has rapidly evolved energy and climate change policies to meet several goals of energy security, air pollution control, industrial development, and carbon emissions reduction. This has significant economic, social and environmental impacts domestically and internationally. This talk focuses on the CIS countries and Mongolia (and possibly Russia) to explore these impacts and to discuss further implications.

ENERPO Research Center at the Regional Energy Security Conference in Kazakhstan

On April 4-6, ENERPO Research Center fellow Irina Mironova took part in the Regional Energy Security Conference, organized by George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC) in cooperation with the Central Asia Institute for Strategic Studies (CAISS). The conference was held in Almaty (Kazakhstan). This conference aimed at addressing the new energy security dynamics in the world with a focus on Central Asia.

ENERPO Center at COP23 in Bonn

On November 15, 2017, at the 23rd UN Climate Conference (COP23) in Bonn, the Russian pavilion held a conference "The participation of Russian business in the implementation of the country's climate policy. Russian Partnership for Climate Conservation", where the ENERPO Center executive director, Maxim Titov, presented the report "Energy efficiency projects in Russia: implementation and financing".

CLEAN ENERGY Forum 2017

Second international forum CLEAN ENERGY took place on November 30, 2017 in the Hotel Indigo in St. Petersburg. The Forum participants discussed clean energy potential in Russia and green investment intstuments and tools in general.

ENERPO Executive Director attends first public hearing of the High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance at the European Commission in Brussels

The High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance, established by the Commission, has released its interim report setting out concrete steps to create a financial system that supports sustainable investments. The Commission held a meeting with international experts to explore some key early recommendations to take further steps towards a low carbon, more resource-efficient and sustainable economy.
