Sergey Sinkevich, Moscow MICEX Vice-President, was born in Novorossiysk in 1973. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from NYU in 2000, and upon graduating worked at UBS Paine Webber as part of an analytic group on fixed income. 2001–2010 he worked at Delta Bank (GE Money Bank) as the Director of Sales and manager of regional offices. From November 2010 – present he has been responsible for the primary market as well as external relationships with MICEX investors.

Dr. Djurdja Bartlett is a prominent scholar in the history of fashion in Eastern Europe of the 20th century, author of the book «FashionEast: the Spectre That Haunted Socialism» (MIT Press, 2010; Russian translation М., NLO, 2011); editor of one of the volumes of the encyclopedia on the history of world dress and fashion («Berg Encyclopedia of World Dress and Fashion», 2010), devoted to ther Eastern Europe, Russia and the Caucasus.

Kirill Androsov holds a PhD in Economics. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Altera Capital. Previously Kirill Androsov was Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. He has also worked in the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade, where he began his career as Director for State Tariffs Regulation and Infrastructural Reform and later served as Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister.

Vladimir Piterbarg (Managing Director, Global Head of Quantitative Analytics, Barclays Bank, London), one of the best-known professionals of quantitative finance from the City of London consisted of two parts. In the first part, Vladimir Piterbarg addressed issues that are now emerging in derivative asset pricing post-crisis, when collaterisation, funding and discounting effects are taken into account. He argue that the only truly credit-risk-free assets in modern economy are those that are fully collateralised on a continuous basis.

2012/2013 Commencement Ceremony

The evening began with the annual address by the Rector of the University, Oleg Kharkhordin and the deans of the faculties. Among the guests in attendance at the ceremony were members of the Board of Trustees, friends, and partners of the European University. Jennes de Mol, Consul-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in St Petersburg and Terrence Flynn, Deputy Principal Officer of the Consulate General of the United States addressed the audience with the welcoming speech. At the end of the ceremony the graduates were awarded Master’s degrees.

The Academic Council of EUSP held an expanded meeting during which the degree of the Honorary Doctor of EUSP was awarded to professor Harley Balzer for his outstanding contribution to the development of the University. As an expression of the university gratitude he was presented with an eau-forte representing EUSP building. During the ceremony professor Balzer delivered a lecture "More than Moscow: Protests Across Russia, 1991 and 2011-2012"

Finland Academy of Sciences decided to award Vladimir Gelman, professor in EUSP's Department of Political science and Sociology Finland Distinguished Professor Finland Distinguished Professor Programme has been launched since 2006 aimed at inviting of the foreign specialists to spend not less than a half of their working hours during 3 or 5 years in Finland to make a valuable contribution to the development of the relevant field in this country.
