Annual Conference (2007–2011)

From 2007 to 2011 the Department of Economics of the European University together with St. Petersburg Institute for Economics and Mathematics, Russian Academy of Sciences, organised annual conference «Modern Approaches to Modelling in Economics, Finance and Business». Participants of the conferences represented graduate students and specialists from various research centres and universities in St. Petersburg as well as economists from other Russian cities.

Visual studies

Natalia Mazur, Candidate of Science in Language and Literature studies, Professor at the Department of Art History, EUSP While in the USA and many European countries visual studies represent the front-line in art history, in Russia they are practiced by few enthusiasts. In 2011–14 EUSP has been able to offer three full year courses in visual studies — the first ones in Russia.

Periodic seminar

The center holds a regular open seminar, at which presentations are made by both associates of the center talking about the current stages of their research activities, and invited speakers from related fields of knowledge - political theory, history, philosophy, linguistics, etc.

Regular Seminar

Since 2004 in the framework of the Gender Studies Program (department of political sciences and sociology, EUSP) takes place a regular seminar, which considers questions of theory, methodology and practice of gender studies.

Open research seminar

The Open research seminar of the Department of Art History has existed since 2002. The seminar was originally conceived of as a platform for discussion, where the Department’s students could discuss current problems of art criticism and history with EUSPB professors and guest specialists. During the course of the seminar’s existence literary and art scholars and critics, film historians, musicologists, translators and critics – scholars, teachers, and employees of museums – as well as specialists from Russia, Bulgaria, Germany, the USA and France have all lectured at its sessions.
