From 2007 to 2011 the Department of Economics of the European University together with St. Petersburg Institute for Economics and Mathematics, Russian Academy of Sciences, organised annual conference «Modern Approacjes to Modelling in Economics, Finance and Business». Participants of the conferences would represent graduate students and specialists from various research centres and universities in St. Petersburg as well as economists from other Russian cities.
At present moment the Department of Economics is working on developing the conference into a bigger scale event, which would attract co-organisers from other major economic insitutions in St. Petersburg as well as representatives of the private sector as sponsors.
