Results

  • The development of the ExxonMobil Specialisation in Natural Resources and Energy Economics at the EUSP Department of Economics resulted in the formation of the outstanding research team, succesfully working in this field.
  • The network of academic contacts is broadening and strengthening. In particular, the International Centre for Energy and Environmental Economics Studies (CEEES) was established by the EUSP Department of Economics jointly with the Centre for Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) at the Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium). The Centre develops teaching and research activities in the area of sustainable development, energy economics, natural resources, environment and climate.
  • The EUSP Department of Economics jointly with CEEES has held four International Workshops on Natural Resources, Environment and Economic Growth. The International Workshop, traditionally held at the beginning of October in St. Petersburg, became a significant academic event not only within Russia, but also within the global scientific community. This has led the ExxonMobil Specialisation to become the largest platform in Russia for regular meetings of world-renowned scholars working in such fields as energy economics, environment economics, and economic growth.
  • A number of new courses on the economics of natural resources, energy and the environment have been introduced to the curriculum of the Department of Economics.
  • Faculty members involved in the ExxonMobil Specialisation in Natural Resources and Energy Economics continue their teaching and research activities, publication of working papers and articles in peer-reviewed journals, and international conference participation.
