The exhibition An Ordinary Synagogue ran at the State Museum of the History of Religion from September 21, 2010 to February 8, 2011. It introduced museum visitors to the religious culture of Jewish communities in the Western Krai of the Russian Empire. The exhibition featured synagogue ware (from the museum’s collection) and photographs from 1912–1914 documenting synagogue buildings and congregation members (from the collection of the Petersburg Judaica Center). Many items of synagogue ware and photographs were presented for the first time.
