For the second year in a row, the university ranks 19th in the Humanities. In the "Social Sciences," it was ranked 29th.
The analytical center "Expert" has summed up the results of the seventh of a series of reviews on the publication activity of Russian universities. The ranking includes only universities that in the past four years have published at least 0,5% of articles in a given area in international journals. At the end of 2021, the number of universities that met the threshold had reached 152. There are a total of 17 subject areas. These include: the humanities, engineering, computer science, mathematics, chemical technology, ecology, economics, energy and others.
The rating is calculated using four categories: "Quality of growth", "Demand", "Scale" and "Excellence" (the indicators were calculated for 2018-2021). Only journal articles were taken into account in the calculations, and did not include materials from conference papers (except in the areas of computer science and artificial intelligence where conference abstracts are recorded in the published conference proceedings.
The category "Excellence" included a combination of indicators calculated from publications in the first quartile of Scopus and WoS (in the humanities, instead of the WoS quartile, the AHCI score was used).
