1st International Workshop on Natural Resources, Environment and Economic Growth

The Department of Economics (European University at St. Petersburg, Russia) and the research centers CORE (Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium) and EQUIPPE (Université Lille 1 des Sciences et Technologies, France) has organized a two-day international workshop on October 7–8, 2010, to promote the use of advanced economic theory in the field of natural resources, environment and growth. Papers devoted to the following topics were welcome: energy, exhaustible and renewable resources, resource curse, environmental quality, discounting and intergenerational issues.

 

The Workshop will be held at the European University at St. Petersburg (3 Gagarinskaya St., St. Petersburg, Russia).

All presentations will be given in the White Hall of the EUSP (1st floor). Each presentation of 40 minutes will be followed by a 20 minutes talk by a discussant.

  • Workshop registration and coffee breaks will be organized in a lobby in front of the White Hall (1st floor, follow signs on the walls).
  • Lunches on October, 7th and 8th will be provided in the EUSP cafeteria (ground floor).
  • Location of the conference dinner on October, 7th will be announced later. Be prepared for a short walk through the city!

 

Almost all participants will be living in the hotel Austrian Yard II (16, Furshtatskaya St., St. Petersburg, Russia) which is in a 10 minutes of walk from the EUSP.

Hotel costs for presenters (3 nights stay at St. Petersburg) may be covered upon a request made to a member of the Scientific committee (one speaker per paper presented).

To get into the city from the airport Pulkovo-2 please use taxi desk in the airport building to book your taxi. If you are looking for some exotics, a bus/metro transportation is also possible: please see airport website for more information.

To get into the hotel please dial 11B on the intercom at the entrance to the courtyard, enter through the gates, and then use the doorbell to enter into the hotel building.
