In the presentation Mr. Tiktinski shared his views on the worldview and cultural formation, commented on the causes of the world economic crises and touched upon the issue of business development ethics. Short bio: Edward Tiktinsky was born on 18 October, 1972 in Leningrad in a doctors’ family. He graduated from the Economics Faculty of the St Petersburg State Polytechnic Institute and did the EBRD’s Higher Course in economics and privatization. He started to work in 1992 as a manager of a project at the International Assistance Centre for entrepreneurship and business (a project by European Bank of Reconstruction and Development). He continued his career in the real estate business as a marketing manager, a year later he became the General Director of a real estate agency. Since 1993 till now he’s the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Company RBI. The name of RBI means Real Estate, Banking, Investments. Today RBI Holding includes the company Severny Gorod (the construction of residential buildings according to the company’s own standard of “Apartments for the middle class”), the company RBI (the development of luxury residential and commercial real estate projects), the company Upravlenie Komfortom (high-quality servicing of houses). For 16 years of RBI’s operation 54 buildings of different class with the total area more than 835 300 sq m have been built by the company. E. Tiktinsky’s aspiration to create large-scale business is supported by the company’s strategy to attract partners to the company’s or projects’ capital. In April 2006 there was created a joint venture between the RBI Holding and Deutsche Bank (RREEF), and in March 2007 the Morgan Stanley investment bank became a shareholder of the company. E. Tiktinsky successfully combines work and business with social activities. He is a member of the St Petersburg Government Advisory Board on the questions of the City Construction development. Also he actively participates in law making. He is a member of the North-West Construction and Industrial Complex Association Council and is a head of The Association’s Legislation Commission. A successful manager of RBI Holdings and an active public figure Edward Tiktinsky is among the 50 most influential St Petersburg businessmen according to the Expert Severo-Zapad Magazine’s rating results, and RBI Holdings ranks among the first three most respectful and reliable North-West companies according to the Expert Severo-Zapad’s rating of construction companies with good reputation (by The Expert Severo-Zapad Magazine’s research). E. Tiktinsky is also among the TOP-1000 of most professional managers of Russia (VI release of the Russian managers’ professional reputation rating, 2005). In April 2009 he was awarded a prize “For the financial strategy in the development sphere” of the Finance magazine.
