The membership list for the Civic Council of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MSHE) has been approved. A corresponding order has been signed by Minister Mikhail Kotyukov.
A competitive selection process was carried out by the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation for candidates for membership in the MSHE Civic Council. Candidates were nominated by civic associations and nonprofit organization. In the end, 25 names were on the list of those selected; among them was EUSP Rector Vadim Volkov.
The MSHE Civic Council is a continuously active deliberative and advisory body for public oversight, and is charged with ensuring that the needs and interests of citizens of the Russian Federation are taken into account, and with defending their rights and freedoms, as well as the rights of civic associations with respect to the implementation of governmental policies falling within the Ministry of Science and Higher Education's remit. In addition, the Council is charged with ensuring public oversight over the MSHE's activities.
