Starting next academic year, the European University at St. Petersburg is launching a master's program, "Eurasian Connectivity: Data-Driven Regional Studies". It trains a new generation of analysts who, along with political expertise in international relations, possess data science methods to work with data on transport and migration flows, migration, energy, and digital transformation.

"We see a demand from companies and government agencies for specialists who can not only provide a high-quality analysis of integration processes in the Eurasian region but also conduct relevant research based on large volumes of unstructured data," the EUSP says. "For example, they can forecast the load on new logistics corridors or analyze migration patterns between Eurasian countries."

The program trains specialists with a range of analytical and applied skills necessary to address business and public administration challenges. It focuses on analyzing current processes in energy cooperation, transport and logistics connectivity, urbanization, and technology policy in the context of deepening Eurasian integration.

Program Features:

  • Partnership with East-China Normal University: Students gain access to data, research, and internship opportunities in China
  • Flexible educational trajectory: Students choose their preferred research region and methodology—qualitative methods or big data analysis
  • Key regions of study: Russia, China, Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Turkey, and the Arctic
  • Language of instruction: English. Students from Russia and abroad will be part of a shared academic space
  • Choice of foreign languages: Chinese, Turkish
