The Institute for the Rule of Law (IPL) at the European University at St. Petersburg has created the Russian Accounting Statements Database (RBBD). This first open alternative to commercial platforms like SPARK-Interfax, Ruslana, Kontur.Focus, and SBIS is compiled from official sources — including the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (EGRUL) of the Federal Tax Service (FNS), archival data from Rosstat, and financial reports obtained through the State Information Resource of Accounting Reports (GIR BO). Currently, the RBBD covers the years 2011–2023 and contains 56.6 million entries.

"A key difference between the RBBD and commercial products is that it includes not only all annual non-consolidated financial statements of Russian organizations but also data on companies that failed to submit their reports despite being legally required to do so."

For more details on the database’s unique features, as well as reactions from competitors and IT industry representatives, see the report by Kommersant St. Petersburg.

The news has also been picked up by RBC.
