In January 2025, a book in the Cambridge History series was published, devoted to strategic planning from the Napoleonic Wars to the present day.

The book contains a chapter by  History Professor Nikita Lomagin about how Soviet military strategy changed over the course of almost 30 years: from the border conflicts of the 1920s–1930s to the key events of World War II — the clashes with Finland (1939–1940), Nazi Germany (1941–1945), and Japan (1945).
