On December 13, Olga Makarova, Executive Director of the Eurasian Studies Center at EUSP, participated in the annual academic conference of the Shanghai Society for Russian, Eastern European, and Central Asian Studies. The trip was organized at the invitation of East China Normal University (ECNU) and was part of the development of a strategic partnership between the universities.

The event was organized by the Institute of International Studies at Fudan University with the participation of the Centers for Russian, Central Asian, and SCO Studies.

During the plenary session, Chinese experts analyzed the evolution of Russian national identity and the prospects for the development of Russian-Chinese relations. A youth symposium was also held as part of the conference. Around 40 researchers from leading Chinese research centers presented their work in six sections, covering topics ranging from digital governance and the Belt and Road Initiative to global competition and regional stability.
