Bruno Latour, known as the most famous French philosopher and one of the most cited social scientists in the world, has died on the evening of Saturday, October 8, 2022. As Bruno himself was joking in his final interview, “librarians of the world are often frustrated with placing my books... they can be found in law, history, philosophy, sociology and even tourism and leisure sections". It is not easy to find a research area in current social sciences that was not influenced by Latour’s work.

On October, 26th at 6 pm (GMT+3) Latour’s colleagues and EUSP social researchers influenced by his writings will meet at Bruno Latour memorial meeting at European University. Among those who will share their memories and discuss the influence of Latour’s work on their research will be Mario Biagioli (Distinguished Professor of Law and Communication at UCLA; author of books Galileo, Courtier; Galileo's Instruments of Credit; From Russia with Code; Gaming the Metrics); Oleg Kharkhordin (Professor, Department of Political Science; Head of Res Publica Center at EUSP); researchers of the EUSP STS Center — Andrey Kuznetsov, Nikolay Rudenko and EUSP MA students. Moderator - Olga Bychkova, Associate Professor, Department of Sociology; Head of the STS Centre.

The meeting will be held in English and in a hybrid format, - in-person in Gagarinsky hall at EUSP and online on EUSP Youtube channel. Participants will be able to ask questions in a live chat.
