On the 6‐12th of July 2014, the European University at St. Petersburg together with the DDPP and regional education and research centres from Tomsk, Kazan and Perm organized the first summer school of the Department of Political Science and Sociology entitled ‘University without Professors.’

On November 7-9, 2013, EUSP hosted University’s conference ‘Exhibition of Academic Achievements’ (VDNH-7). Several sections were organised by researchers from the Centre for Cultural Studies of Post-Socialism (in Kazan Federal University), Centre for Comparative History and Political Studies (Perm State National Research University) and Centre for Policy Analysis and Studies of Technologies (Tomsk State National Research University), as well as by the Petersburg office of the Programme. Academic troops from the regions of Russia were actively involved in discussions around the topics of their interest: private property after socialism, migration issues, patron-client relations, measures of academic achievements, innovations in medical technologies and so on.

Programme’s Council Meetinig in Florence

On January 11-12, 2014, a meeting of the members of the Programme’s Council was organised by the EUSP in Florence, Italy. All members of the Council took part in the meeting together with Programme’s Director from the EUSP and specialists of HESP. During the meeting, members of the Council evaluated centres’ faculty reports and elaborated recommendations for further development of the Programme. Nowadays, universities pay more attention to publishing activities of their faculty, especially to the articles in peer-reviewed journals.

On March 27, 2014, the Programme for Development of Partner Centres was presented at the opening day of the Conference ‘Forms of Inequality and Resistance to Exclusion: dynamics of social change in modern society’ organised by St. Petersburg Association of Sociologists together with European University at St. Petersburg, Centre for Independent Social Research, Sociological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg State University and Higher School of Economics.
