The best way to learn something is to start doing it. Learning at our department is based on this principle. Students choose a research topic from the very first weeks and start working on it under the guidance of faculty members. They find out what has already been done in the chosen field, devise what they would like to do, search for data or develop a model. Our students work over their own research projects that finally become their master theses. Some research projects of our students are published as academic papers already after their first year of studies, some research results of our students immediately find their applications in real life. Doing interesting economic research our students become real economists — sometimes imperceptibly for themselves.
